SMITH, Michael A. Age 26, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family, nurses and friends. Michael was born on August 28, 1990 in Ohio. Our family was blessed with Michael when he was five months old. At the age of two years old, his biological mother felt we could give him the care he needed due to his special needs and medical condition that resulted from the abuse he received from an irresponsible man. Even though Michael was totally dependent on others, he had visited many schools teaching people about child abuse and how it can change your life forever. Despite being nonverbal his whole life, his mother Kathleen knew how to communicate with him. No matter what, Michael always had a smile on his face and his greatest love was music. He is survived by his devoted parents, Elbert and Kathleen Smith; brothers, Jeremy Smith and Mike (Debbie) Smith; sister, Phoenix Smith; nieces and nephews, Hunter, Andrew, Cruze, Emily, Olivia, CJ, Kayla, Jordan and Justin; biological mother, Shawna; sisters, Cheyenne and KT; and grandmother, Rita. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and sisters, Angie and Ashley. Visitation will be held from 1pm until 3pm on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton. Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Family Cemetery, 2151 Oxford Middletown Road, Hamilton (at the corner of 127 and Oxford Middletown Road). Michael was cared for by his family and a wonderful group of nurses. The family would also like to mention the doctors, teachers, Starshine Hospice, the music therapist, the massage therapist, and the OT and PT therapists.
