Meyer, Merwyn WalterMerwyn "Mer" Walter Meyer, age 79, Suamico, formerly of Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was born on November 12, 1937, to the late William and Viola (Baumann) Meyer in Shawano. Mer graduated from Shawano High School in 1956. After graduating from NWTI Barber School, he worked at El Franz Barber Shop in downtown Green Bay. Years later, he taught at five different vocational schools in the state of Wisconsin. On November 21, 1975, he married his second wife, Patricia, and for over 30 years, they owned and operated "Men's Room Ladies Choice" Hair Salon in Ashwaubenon. Mer was the President of the Friday Morning Optimist Club of Ashwaubenon, proud member of the Ashwaubenon School Board, and many other organizations in Ashwaubenon and Green Bay. In 2006, Mer and Patti bought a home in Suamico, where they retired.Mer is survived by his children, Mark Meyer and Susan (David) Walls; stepson, Barry (Tracy) Wahlen; grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) and Michael (Casey) Meyer, Jacob, Austin, and Hunter Walls, and Luke (Danielle) and Casey (Julie) Wahlen; great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Nolan Meyer, Johnathon and Robyn Delebreau, and Brady, Leah, Gemma, and Kayla Wahlen; siblings, Elaine Klitz, David (Pili) Meyer, and Diane (Wayne) Krueger; ex-wife and good friend, Karen Meyer; special friends, Mike and Sue Bebeau; and many other family and friends.Mer is preceded in death by his wife, Patti; brother, Ralph Meyer; brother-in-law, Donald Klitz; sister-in-law, Lorraine Meyer; and niece, Kathy (Krueger) Clausing.Family and friends may gather on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Rev.
