WHITNEY, Idaho - Merlin Kenneth Bodily, 65, former Whitney, Idaho resident, died on May 10, 2007, in Blackfoot, Idaho of pneumonia. He was born on July 24, 1941, in Preston, Idaho to Lawrence Cole and Mary Henderson Bodily. He attended Whitney Elementary School and Preston High School. After graduation, he went to Brigham Young University. Merlin served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the British North Mission. He lived in Whitney on the family farm for most of his life. He coached church softball and was a life-long fan of BYU sports, especially football. Merlin is survived by three brothers, Richard (Deanna) Bodily, Logan, Utah; Robert (Christine) Bodily, Grapevine, Texas; and Gordon (Lynette) Bodily, Springville, Utah; and by one sister, Karen (Ray) Thompson, Laie, Hawaii; 14 nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Arlene. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, May 19, 2007, in the Whitney 1st Ward with Bishop Jeff Leonard conducting. Friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church in Whitney. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home in Preston.
