LaFortune, MerleMerle LaFortune, 82, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born on November 15, 1934, in Lena to James and Eunice (Ducane) LaFortune.On May 5, 1956, Merle married Carol Demmith. He later married Barb Waldo on August 16, 1991. Merle was hired by Green Bay Packaging in May of 1958 as a Millwright and retired after 37 years. Sgt. Merle C. LaFortune served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964 as a Quarter Master in Fort Lee, VA. He loved hunting and fishing. His trophy Yukon Moose was the 46th largest in Boone and Crockett, and was his pride. He spent a lot of time fishing for salmon and lake trout in Lake Michigan.Merle is survived by his wife, Barb LaFortune; two daughters, Lisa and Bob Bougneit, Tina and Henry Althoff; four grandchildren, Crystal Bougneit, John Bougneit, Amber and Casey Pfaff, Abigail Althoff and her special friend, Trevor Jones; a great grandson, Sebastian Pfaff; three stepsons, Craig Waldo and his friend, Emily, Mike Waldo, Todd Waldo; two sisters, Carol (James) Frye, Patsy (Rodger) Luebke; two sisters-in-law, Erna LaFortune and Donna LaFortune; and a brother-in-law, Bill and Lil Kroll.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon LaFortune and Arlyn LaFortune.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday.
