Melvin was born in Pine Bluff, AR February 21, 1964, from the union of Melvin L. and Darlene D. Lancaster.

Melvin later joined the military to travel many parts of the country, which included his tours in Korea and Germany. Ultimately he settled in Colorado Springs, CO where he was a state employee until his departure from this life. He enjoyed many hobbies but his favorite was pool.

Melvin is proceeded in death by both of his parents and younger brother, Stacy Lancaster. His love and legacy will be cherished by his son, Rev. Keenan Lancaster (Amanda); his daughter, Ty’Kyra Lancaster, and his three grandchildren.
