Funeral services for Melton Lynn Hale, 61, of Hornbeck were held Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Hornbeck, with Buddy Airhart and Kenneth Baggs officiating. Burial was in the Hale Family Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation was Wednesday October 26, from 2 p.m. until time of service Thursday, at the church. Melton, the son of Johnny Thomas and Willie Virginia Airhart Hale, was born on November 13, 1954, in Many. He passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016, in Leesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bartel Hale and Bennie Hale ,and granddaughter, Kyler Lee Hale. Mr. Hale worked for more than 40 years as a millwright for I.P. He loved to grow plants in his garden. His passion was his family; he loved his grandbabies. He is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Debra Hale of Hornbeck; sons, Chris and Vanessa Hale of Anacoco, Chad and Melissa Hale of Hicks, Jonathan and Amanda Hale of Weatherford, Texas and Joshua Hale of Alamogordo, N.M.; siblings, Felton andConnie Hale of Hornbeck, Willie and Rita Hale of Hornbeck, Rebecca Hale of Hornbeck, Lorraine Curtis of Hornbeck and Melba and Tom Perkins of Kermit, Texas; and grandchildren, Taylor Hale, Samantha Hale, Elise Hale, Logan Hale, Isabella Hale, Zack Bennett, Cyrus Valentine and Noah Valentine and many nieces and nephews.
