ANDOVER-DeWitt, Melissa L. (Buckley) 39, went to be with her mom in heaven on Monday, June 13, 2016, in Andover. Melissa was born on November 24, 1976 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Rod and Debby Buckley. Melissa and Jeremy DeWitt were united in marriage on March 5, 2016, in Augusta, KS. Melissa graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS with a bachelor's degree in Paralegal Law. She worked for Andover High School in special education for 5 years. She loved working with kids with special needs. She was preceded in death by her mother, Debby Buckley; grandmother, Ruth Ferris; uncle, Jamey Holley. Survivors include her loving husband, Jeremy DeWitt of Andover; father, Rod Buckley of Augusta; children, Madison Rutledge, Mason Rutledge, Gracie DeWitt; stepdaughter, Saphyre DeWitt; brother, Jeremy (Heather) Buckley of Andover; grandfather, Charles Ferris; grandparents from fathers side, Harold and Lois Buckley of Douglass; aunt, Janet (Chad) Gross; cousins, Jessica and Jakob Holley; and many other family members. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016; Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016, both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorials can be made to the Lakecrest Bible Baptist Church, 1709 Socony St., Augusta, KS 67010.
