Melba A. Armijo, 83, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas.She was born on May 8, 1930, in Las Vegas to the late Manuel Montoya and Emilia Grace Westgate.She was a Elks Club member with her husband and founder of "The help for the needy Club." She enjoyed having to family gatherings, embroidering, jewelry making, reading and in earlier years ceramic.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.A lifetime Catholic, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Catholic Daughters.She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Vicente E. Armijo Sr.; parents; brother, Paul Montoya; mother and father-in-law, Mercedes and Joe Lujan; brother-in-laws, Joe Armijo and wife, Ann; and Bennie Gallegos; granddaughter, Diandra Romero and nephew, Ronald Gallegos.She is survived by her sons and daughters, Vincent E. Armijo Jr., and wife, Charlene of Rio Rancho; Carla Garcia and husband, Ronald, Aleene Ludi and husband, Carl, all of Las Vegas; Allen Armijo and wife, Jeanette of Santa Fe, Bettina Romero and friend, Armand Saiia of El Ancon; Frank Armijo and Bertha of Las Vegas, Emilia Armijo of Santa Fe, Michael Armijo and wife, Beverly of Ribera, Manuel Armijo and Ben Armijo of Las Cruces, Kelly Armijo and wife, Adreina and Kerry Armijo and wife, Cynthia, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Mercedes, Nicole, Charles, Eric, Justin, Jason, Christina, John Paul and wife, Adele, Christopher and fiancée, Marcia, Allen, Jr., Erica, Dolores and fiance Donavin, Paul, Diego, Ariena, Divana, John, Miguel, Angie and husband, Rob, April and husband, Jessie, Justin, Edward and fiancée, Vanessa Vigil, Elsie. Funeral Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar and celebrant.
