Melanie S. SouthallBLUE ROCK: Melanie S. Southall, 63 of Blue Rock, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville while under the care of Genesis Hospice.Melanie was born on September 8, 1952 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Lee J. and Gladys I. (Coyle) Johnson. She attended the Zanesville Bible Methodist Church as well as the Rural Dale United Methodist Church. She previously worked as a waitress at Shoney's, Mark Pi's, Oggies, and the Italian Eatery and she also worked as a cook for North Star Pizza. She loved gardening, canning baking pies and she most especially loved spending time with her four grandchildren, who was dear to her heart.Melanie is survived by her son Steven (Amanda) Southall of Blue Rock; her grandchildren Bradley, Mikayla, Creed and Karlee; her siblings Brent (Rose) Johnson of Mt. Perry, Dave (Ann) Johnson of Zanesville, Dana (Beverly) Johnson of Blue Rock, Leah (Jeff) Harper of Zanesville and Karen (Phil) Hinkle of Carlwick.In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Southall Fund, c/o CNB, PO Box 423, Duncan Falls, Ohio, 43734.The family would like to offer a special Thank-You to the Zanesville Bible Methodist Church, Rural Dale United Methodist Church and Highland Oaks Health Center for all of their love and support.Calling hours for friends and family will be 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Monday with Pastor William Blair officiating.
