Matthew John HodgesJuly 31, 1968 - March 30, 2014Matthew John Hodges, 45, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at his home in Inkom, Idaho.He was born on July 31, 1968 to Richard and Norleen Hodges. He moved to Pocatello in 1974. He attended Indian Hills Elementary, Edahow Elementary , Franklin Junior High, Highland High School, and Idaho State University, graduating with a BA in Sociology with a minor in Marketing.He worked at the Bank of Idaho in the mortgage department where he met his soul mate, Stephanie Wright. They have shared the last 18 months as constant companions.Matt lost his father as a teenager and he gained a dad when his mother married David Capell.Matt had a great love and talent for golfing with a self-taught ability to build quality, customized clubs for his friends and family. His other loves included riding his motorcycle, his mountain bike, and being outdoors. He loved cars, especially Porsches and Mustangs. He owned several of them, and would buy them and spend time fixing them up. He had a great appreciation and knowledge of cooking, fine wines, champagne, and beers, all of which he enjoyed sharing with, Stephanie.He had a strong passion for music of all genres and was very proud of the elaborate sound equipment he had and his huge music selection in which to play it on.He is survived by his soul mate, Stephanie Wright, Inkom, ID, her two daughters Kourtney and Kelsey, parents Norleen (David) Capell, Pocatello, ID, one sister Laura (Shane) Wilson, Wilsonville, Oregon, two brothers Scott Hodges, and James (Vicki) Capell, both of Boise, ID.He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 11 AM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID 208-233-1500Condolences can be made to the family online at www.colonial-funeralhome.com
