Mary Z. OrchardJanuary 10, 1929 - April 13, 2014Mary Z Orchard, 85, of Pocatello, Idaho, went to be with Our Lord Palm Sunday, April 13th 2014.She was born on January 10th 1929 in Hardin Montana to Anthony and Bernadine Zahn.She grew up in Blackfoot Idaho.She married the love of her life, Robert Dale Orchard on September 3rd, 1960 in Las Vegas Nevada. After their marriage, they returned to the Blackfoot area for a brief period. They moved to Metaline Falls, Washington, Colfax Washington, and Lewiston Idaho. The couple then returned to Pocatello in 1973 where they would make a permanent home for themselves. Her husband passed away on December 28th 1998.She was an active member of the Catholic Church and served several ministries.She was very proud when she opened Mary's Ceramics in 1979. She taught ceramics to several people, and her house was decorated with all the ceramics she made.Her other hobbies included, cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening as well as fishing, hunting and horseback riding.She is survived by her children, Zandra Capehart (Spokane, Washington) Ted and Lori Meese (Newman Lake, Washington) Dottie and David Smith (Pocatello, Idaho) and Robert Dale Orchard Jr. (Salt Lake City, Utah), 5 grandchildren, 11 great children and her younger brother Anthony Zahn (Henderson Nevada)Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Sheila; her granddaughter, Ronda; and her siblings, Katherine, Paul, Joseph, Rosie, Irene, Helen May, Dorothy, John, Margaret and Martin.A Mass of Christian burial for Mary will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Joseph's Chapel, 455 N. Hayes Avenue. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. The interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
