Mary Louise KeyKnoxville, TNMary Louise Key, age 92, of Knoxville, passed away on May 13, 2017. Mrs. Key was born on January 10, 1925 in Lafayette, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Rev. H. N. Key; parents, William R. Mason and Edna Elizabeth Mason; son-in-law, James Welch; and her three beloved big brothers, Lewis, Glenn and Lee. Mrs. Key graduated from Harrison – Chilhowee Baptist Academy and was a LPN at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 1987. Mrs. Key was an active member of New Hopewell Baptist Church and Past Worthy Matron of the Chilhowee Chapter 450 of The Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Key is survived by her daughter, Joyce Welch; son, Jerry Key (Terry), all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Craig Hardin (Tabitha) of London, KY; Teena Waggoner of Knoxville; and Niki Colwell (Crystal) of London, KY; six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the personnel from Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care. Mama, Mamaw, and GGM will be missed dearly. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Berry's Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm with services following with Rev. Rick Loy officiating. Graveside services and interment will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Clearwater Cemetery in Athens, TN with Rev. Rick Loy officiating.
