Mary "Jeanine" Parry Kent, 80, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at her home in Fielding, Utah.Jeanine was born on April 9, 1932, to George K. Parry and Mary Jane Jones in Malad, Idaho. She was raised in a happy home. As a child she enjoyed learning to work with her siblings and her Dad cleaning at the Malad High School. She graduated from Malad High School in 1950 with valedictorian honors.She married Dan N. Kent on Aug. 25, 1950, in Malad, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on July 31, 1954. Dan passed away on August 1, 2002. In their early years they lived in Malad, Idaho, and Ogden, Utah, and in 1954 they moved to Fielding, Utah, where they made their home and raised their four children.Jeanine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served in the Stake Primary, Young Women, Relief Society and many treasured ward callings.Jeanine was a very compassionate and talented lady. Jeanine loved people and was genuinely concerned about their well being and loved those around her. She was known for the tributes and poems that she wrote and recited for funerals, weddings and parties. She also made beautiful handiwork, crocheting handkerchiefs, blessing dresses, baby shawls and much more.She worked as a substitute lunch lady at the Fielding School, managed the Shamrock Gas Station in Tremonton, Utah, worked at Wurlitzer Piano in Logan, Utah, for 20 years, and then retired from First Security Bank after 13 years.She is survived by her children: Richard Dan (MerLynn) Kent of Fielding Utah, Jeffry P (Myrna) Kent of Tremonton, Utah, Pamela Mellon of Fielding, Utah and Colleen Reott, Garland, Utah; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren with two on the way. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, EmoLou Parry of Malad, Idaho, and brother-in-law, James N. Kent Spokane of Washington and very special nieces and nephews of many generations. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan N. Kent; her siblings, Ardelle (Earl) Thomas, George Wesley Parry, Vadis (Hazen) Gilgen, Sara (Keith) Moss, Thomas J. Parry, Daniel Lamont Parry, Ruth Norine Parry; grandson Ronald Lester Mellon; and great-grandson Kent Jeffry Johnsen.Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Fielding Stake Center 4375 W. 15600 North, Fielding, Utah. A viewing will be held on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 East, Tremonton, Utah.
