LAURINBURG — Mary Carlisle Hubbard Sanders, 78, passed away on Feb. 17, 2014.

Mary was born on Aug. 23, 1935 in Bennettsville, S.C., daughter of the late James Carlisle Hubbard and Macie Wilson Hubbard. She was a secretary with the Marlboro County School System retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. She formerly served as a member of the Bennettsville First United Methodist Church and the Bennettsville Pilot Club.

She loved being with people and enjoying conversation. Before her illness, she also enjoyed beach music, shagging, and going to the movies.

Mary is survived by her daughters Danielle Sanders Walker and husband Robert of Laurinburg and Jackie Sanders Covington and husband Pinky of Laurinburg, her brother James "Jimmy" Wilson Hubbard and wife Linda of Galivants Ferry, S.C., and her grandson Jonathan Covington of Laurinburg.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday with the Celebration of Life memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
