RACINE - Mary E. Therkelsen, 62, a resident of Racine, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. Mary was born on October 10, 1949 in Fond du Lac, WI to the late Carl and Dolores (Lewis) Moser. She was educated at St. Patrick’s Grade School and St. Mary’s Springs Academy of Fond du Lac and graduated from the UW-Oshkosh with a BS in teaching. On April 6, 1991 she married Tim Therkelsen at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Mary was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She was employed at Gormac Products in Racine for 15 years. She was also employed as a 1st grade teacher in New Munster, WI. Mary was active at church, a member of the choir and she made rosaries for the church. She also volunteered as a tutor for English at the Literacy Council of Racine, WI. She loved dogs and enjoyed music. Mary loved to travel and enjoyed her annual trips to Las Vegas, NV. Mary is survived by her husband Tim, one brother, Jerome Moser, of California, and one sister, Sharon Bell, of Manitowoc, WI. She is further survived by one nephew Steven Moser of North Carolina and two nieces; Lynnette Moser of Louisiana, and Janette (Joe) Moore of North Carolina. She is also survived by several great nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard, in infancy. A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 31 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (6400 Spring St, Racine), with Fr. Terry Huebner officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac, WI on Saturday June 2nd, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the family grave site. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Mullane and his entire staff for their kind, compassionate care over the 11 years of her treatment.
