Mary Bell Mariakis passed away on Thursday, February 02, 2017 in Covington, LA. She was born on Tuesday, August 02, 1932 in New Orleans, LA to the late Patrick G. Bell, Sr. and Gertrude Moore Bell. Marybell was the loving mother of Steven P. Mariakis, Sr. (Audra), Patrick M. Mariakis, Sr. (Michele), Trudy Mariakis Hale (the late Ricky), the late Andrew N. Mariakis, Jr., and Teddy E. Mariakis, Sr. She was proud of her 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Marybell was the sister of Colleen Sellers, the late Patrick G. Bell, Jr., and Charlene Maher. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marybell was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans, LA. She was a bookkeeper for Krauss Department Store in New Orleans. After moving to Mandeville, Marybell worked for and retired from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts at St. Maurice School in New Orleans. Marybell was a caring and loving soul. She was selfless and always put her family first. Relatives and friends are invited to the Liturgy of the Word at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM. A WAKE will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM. VISITATION on Tuesday will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be at Metairie Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
