Mary Ann Gutwein86, of Francesville, IN passed away at 9:30 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette, IN.She was born on December 28, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to the late Jacob and Ida Schmid Altvater. At a young age, she moved to Milford, IN and was raised by Oliver and Emma Haab. She graduated from Milford High School in 1947. On June 26, 1960, Mary Ann married Glen Gutwein in Milford. He survives.Mary Ann was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was faithful to help with church activities. She enjoyed being a homemaker, especially cooking and spending time with her family.She is survived by: husband, Glen Gutwein, Francesville, IN; daughters, Beth (Edward) Russell, Lafayette, IN and Glenda (Brian) Allinder, West Lafayette; granddaughter, Leslie (Jeremiah) Zahn; grandsons, Brian (Megan) Timmons, Cameron Allinder and Colin Allinder; sister, Patti Thorp; brother, Alvin (Carol) Haab; step-brothers, Bill Stacy, Lyn Stacy, and Charles Stacy; and many nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her parents, Jacob & Ida Schmid Altvater; foster parents, Oliver and Emma Haab; step-mother, Louise Stacy Alvater; sister-in-law, Mildred; and brother-in-law, Leonard Shotola.Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. EST Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville, IN with the Ministers of the Church officiating.Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. EST Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville, IN and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
