Witkowski, MartinMartin "Marty" Witkowski Martin John Witkowski, age 63 of Fox Lake formerly of Waupun, left us unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Martin was born on June 21, 1953, in Waupun, a son of Leo and Eileen (Louis) Witkowski. Marty graduated from Waupun High School in 1971 and enjoyed playing football throughout his high school years. On July 21, 1973, he married Cheryl Wilson at Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun. Marty worked for the Central State and Fox Lake Correctional Institution for a number of years. He was a supporter of AFSCME while working for the State of Wisconsin. From 1979-1987, he owned and operated a local tavern, Marty's Down on Main. He also worked for local industries throughout the years. Marty had a good sense of humor, always enjoyed a good laugh. He was a longtime member of the local softball team of Waupun. He enjoyed going bowling, listening to music, bands and traveling. His passion was spending time by the lake and pontoon rides on Fox Lake with family and friends. Marty loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by many. Marty is survived by his wife, Cherie Witkowski of Fox Lake; two daughters, Tasha (Mike) Piontek of Pewaukee and Andrea (Dan) Uherka of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren, Noah, Austin Piontek; Celestine, Markiya and Dannic Uherka; two siblings, Chuck Witkowski of Kaukauna and Pati (Mike) Weaver of New Berlin and special kitty, Emie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Katie Witkowski; parents-in-law, Glen (Grace) Wilson; grandparents, cousins and friends. Visitation for Marty will be from 1:00- 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun.A memorial service for Marty will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Chaplain Dennis Richards officiating.A celebration of Marty's life will also be held at a later date. Kohls Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
