Martha Jo Shirley CarringtonArlington, TN.Martha Jo Carrington, 87, passed away on September 15, 2017. JoJo as she was known by family and friends was born on January 30th 1930 to William C. Shirley and Fay Shirley. She is preceeded in death by her husband James Harles Carrington; her parents and sister Lorraine Hamilton and brother Bob Shirley. She is survived by sisters Janice Shirley and Phyllis Barthlomew; three daughters Renee Winningham (Ricky), Jaime Carrington, Michelle Carrington Dennis (Johnny); 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. JoJo worked for the General Electric Lamp Plant for 45 years. She had a passion for cooking as well as entertaining family and friends at her home. She enjoyed sports and watching her kids' and grandkids' ball games. She was a huge Memphis State Tiger Basketball fan. She also loved going out to eat and playing cards with her friends. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard. In lieu of flowers please make donations to in Memphis, TN.Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. followed by services at 2:00 p.m. Both visitation and services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 North Germantown Pkwy Memphis, TN.
