MARJORIE BETZ

BOWLING GREEN — Marjorie Ann Betz, 94, died at 9 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Brookdale Bowling Green.

Marjorie was born on Saturday, September 16, 1922, in St. Marys, to the late Isom and Josephine (Unghrun) Fike. On Sunday, October 7, 1945, she married Howard Layman Betz and spent the next 60 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death in March 2005.

Marjorie was a member of Lima Baptist Temple Church in Lima and attended the New Covenant Baptist Church in Enon. She served in the Navy during World War II as a dental hygienist.

She is survived by: grandchild, Holly Betz, Bowling Green; great-grandchild, Dillon Betz, Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Carol Betz, Enon; grandchild, Angie Bernhardt, Enon; nephews, Jerry (Carol) Stombaugh, AL and Steve Carrigan, CA; nieces, Jeannie (Jeff) Gardner, CA and Sherry (Greg) Heiden, CA.

She is preceded in death by: sons, Walter S. Betz and Howard Neal (Carol) Betz and sister, Miriam Carrigan.

A graveside service will begin at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Pastor Ron Lee will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Baptist Temple or the New Covenant Baptist Church.
