Marilynn UnderwoodPEORIA - Marilynn J. Underwood, 81, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of State Center, Iowa, and Peoria, Illinois, died on Thursday, November 25, 2016, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly.Marilynn was born on November 21, 1935, in Rhodes, Iowa, the daughter of Iva (Robinson) and Theodore Evans. She attended school and graduated from Rhodes High School. She later moved to Peoria, Illinois, where she was united in marriage to William Underwood.Marilynn was a homemaker and a manager at Maurices and Things Remembered. She retired in 2000.Marilynn enjoyed line and square dancing, as well as aerobics, gardening and decorating her house. She also liked to volunteer at The Mouse. She had a special love for her dog, Koda.Marilynn is survived by two daughters, Sara (Scot) Henrichs of Allison, Iowa, and Dee (Doug) Behr of New Hartford, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judith Olson of Pueblo West, Colorado.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William.According to her wishes, Marilynn's body has been cremated and there will be no formal services.Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.Online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
