Marie Luvette Evans-Cummings was born March 8, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois to Joe Lee and Velma Lee Evans. In 1970, Marie relocated to Chicago Heights, Illinois with her parents and three siblings.

Marie received her education at Washington Jr. High School. Marie later met David Cummings in 1986, then shortly after, they were married with four children.

Marie’s favorite recreation was playing cards, listening to the blues, and playing with her favorite dog Parker. She loved spending time with her family and attending New Faith Missionary Baptist Church every sunday.
On March 8th, 2019, Marie was called home. Marie was preceded in death by both parents Joe Lee and Velma Lee Evans, and her only brother Joseph Leonard Evans.

Marie leaves to cherish her memories, Her husband David Cummings; four daughters Jeanine Cummings, Carmencia Evans-Hawthorn, Patricia Evans, and Jacqueline Evans, three sisters, Dorothy Matilly (Matt), Rhonda Evans-Woodward (Marcus), and Anntionette Curry (Floyd); One grandson Jamari Curry and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
