Schwebel, Marie K.Marie Katherine Schwebel, age 97, formerly of Sheboygan, rejoined her savior on August 20, 2017.Marie was born on November 24, 1919 in Sheboygan to the late John and Marie (Diener) Kunstman. Marie attended Trinity Lutheran School where she was baptized and confirmed. Marie furthered her education by attending Sheboygan Vocational School for Typing, Calculation, and Salesmanship, graduating in 1938. Marie was united in marriage with William J. Schwebel on August 18, 1945 at St. Dominic's Rectory in Sheboygan.Marie's devotion to her family and helping others could easily be seen from early on in her life. She was a volunteer at Bethesda Thrift Store for more than 20 years. Marie also was a nanny and house cleaner as well as working at Sheboygan Produce. Marie was also a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a home-maker. Marie made her home for the past 15 years living with her daughter, Laura, and son-in-law, Jeffrey.Marie is survived by her two children Thomas (Doris) Schwebel and Laura (Jeffrey) Bemis both of Sheboygan. Six grandchildren Collen (Rick) Butler, Vicki Schwebel, Adam (Samantha) Schwebel, Brad Schwebel, Melissa (Chad) Schoerner and Ryan (Jeremiah) LaCrosse. Four great-grandchildren, Zach Butler, Dylan Jakum, Deanna Jenkins and Gregory Schoerner. Many nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends. A special thanks to her nephew Gary Tauferner who always thought of her on his trips to bring her vanilla and for regularly visiting her until her passing.In addition to her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Emma Coulson, Emily Weinberger, and Frieda Pluskat; three brothers, John Kunstman, Gottlieb Kunstman, and Alex Kunstman. Sisters-in-law Helen Tauferner, Evelyn Rakow, and Dolores Saba. Brother-in-law Joseph Schwebel.Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 Olson Funeral Home. & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Brett Matz of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Marie's arrangements. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Meadowview Manor and Heartland Hospice Care who provided Marie with care and comfort.
