GREENSBORO - Mrs. Marie Apple Pearman, 89, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Brighton Gardens. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Lawndale Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Rodney Navey and the Rev. Marion Boling. Entombment will follow at Westminster Gardens. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. in the foyer of the church. Marie was born on October 3, 1924, in Guilford County, a daughter of W.R. and Ida Murray Apple. She was married to Richard M. Pearman Sr. for 64 years. They lived in Kinston, N.C. for 40 years and the remainder in Greensboro. She spent some of her working career as a teller at North Carolina National Bank, but mostly she was a devoted wife and mother. As a member of Lawndale Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Kinston, Marie was an active WMU member, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. She was a volunteer (Pink Lady) at the hospital in Kinston. She enjoyed gardening, reading, bridge and canasta. Mrs. Pearman was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her four siblings, and her son, Richard M. Pearman Jr. She is survived by her sons, Michael T. Pearman and wife Gayl, of Greensboro and Larry W. Pearman and wife Susan, of Summerfield; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
