Miller, Marie A. (Gessert)Marie A. (Gessert) Miller, 96, Green Bay, died peacefully Friday, May 12, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 4, 1921, in Marshfield to William and Mary (Heckel) Gessert.Marie was very proud of being a farmer's daughter, which instilled in her a hard work ethic and a love for the outdoors. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Jude Parish. On September 21, 1946, Marie married Frank L. Miller. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1999. She learned to play music by ear on the harmonica. Marie loved feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. She was a gentle spirit and loved her grandchildren. Marie was very adventurous - always ready for the next adventure.She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jerry and Mary Miller, Jim and Sue Miller, John and Nancy Miller, Mary Senechal, Lynn and Dennis Pierner, Joe and Lori Miller, Pam and Tom Janssen, Chris Miller; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and eight brothers and sisters, Peter, Gertrude, Cecelia, Raymond, Marcella, Walter, Melvin, and Carl.Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at the church. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
