Marian "Chris" OverockerSeptember 6, 1933 - January 29, 2014Marian "Chris" Overocker, 80, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at an assisted living center in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born on September 6, 1933 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Sarah Francis (Gubla) and Michael Francis Zawistoski. She was raised and graudated in Pennsylvania.Chris married John D. Overocker on October 17, 1953 in Erie, PA. Together they had four sons, Douglas, Kurt, Mitchell and Shawn. John worked for Bucyrus Erie. He was transferred to Pocatello in 1975 where they raised their children.Chris loved golfing, cooking and camping and was a member of the women's golf league. She especially loved her family and friends. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Pocatello.Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, on November 10, 2000. Her parents, Sarah and Michael; brothers, Barnie, Bob, and Matt; as well as two sons, Doug and Shawn Overocker. Chris is survived by her sons, Kurt (Madalena) Overocker and Mitchell (Sherri) Overocker all of Pocatello; Chris's sister, Valerie and brothers, Frank and Thomas. Chris has six grandchildren, Jason, Jennilee, Julianne, Mark, Matthew and Amanda. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.As per her wishes, Chris has been cremated under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello, Idaho. A Mass will be said in her memory Saturday, Feb. 1st at Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St Anthony's Chapel, 707 North 7th Ave in Pocatello at the 5:00 PM mass.
