Marian Ethel Hale (1937 2017) Marian E. Hale went to join her Lord on 5 April 2017, she passed away at her home, Capital Place in Olympia, WA, surrounded by her friends. Marian Ethel Hammett was born on 2 January 1937 to Ruth Louise (Mulholland) Hammett and Charles Oscar Hammett in Olympia at her Aunt Helen's home and was raised in Olympia. Marian graduated from Olympia High School in 1955 and joined the Navy in 1956, serving three and a half years while working as a Meteorologist. She later worked for Washington State Department of Retirement, retiring with 30 years of service. She continued to serve her community and her country by working as a volunteer. She volunteered in Centralia Schools helping children learn how to read, at St. Peter's Hospital Gift Shop, with the Republican Women's Group, and with her Church, First Baptist Church in Olympia. Marian married Jack Robertson Hale on 21 August 1974, who predeceased her on 18 April 1996. She is survived by her two step-daughters, Pamela Hanson and Sandra Procter and son-In-Law Richard Procter. Surviving Marian are brothers Ralph Hagen, Vernon Hammett, and sisters Margie Vest, Ruby Johnson, Donna Henke, and brothers-in-Law Donald Vest and Doug Henke. She had three grandsons Jordan and Trent Hanson and Jack Procter. She has numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by siblings Stanley, Thomas, Bruce, Virginia, Charles, Lyle, Ray and Clarence. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on 22 April 2017 at 12:00 o'clock with a luncheon to follow. A private interment will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Tumwater, WA. Flowers may be sent to First Baptist Church, 904 Washington Street SE, Olympia, WA 98507.
