Maria Torales Macias, of Las Cruces, NM, entered eternal life on Saturday, December 17, 2016. She was 101 years old. She was born on February 4, 1915, in Aquascalientes, Mexico, to Alejandro and Petra Torales. She dedicated her life to her home and family. As a devoted Catholic she taught all her children to believe and trust in the Lord. She was continually praying for her family, asking God's blessing upon them. She is preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo Macias and her daughter Graciela Gonzalez and is survived by her nine children: Gerardo & Martina Macias of Juarez, Mx; Bertha Cervantes of Chihuahua, Mx; Edelia Salazar of Las Cruces; Jose & Maria Macias of Las Cruces; Herlinda & Sergio Olivas of Galena Park, Tx; Francisco & Manuela Macias of Las Cruces; Reynaldo & Mary Macias of Galena Park, Tx; Perfecto Macias of Galena Park, Tx; and Armando Macias of Galena Park, Tx. Maria will also be missed by her 53 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great-grandchildren. Even though there were many, she considered each family member as her special 'mija' or 'mijo'. The Macias Family invites all their relatives and friends to join them for the viewing at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5-7 p.m., followed by the Rosary.
