Maria Martha Louisa Duran-Gonzales, 67, of Chacon, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2014.She was born on Jan. 5, 1947, to Nora Duran-Lopez. Martha is survived by her loving husband, Ernesto E. Gonzales of 49 years; their four children, Cristina Gonzales of Mora; Veronica Vigil and husband, Joseph of Chacon; John Walter Gonzales and fiancée, Eleanor of Chacon; and Deborah Gonzales and fiancé, Adrian Blaze Tuski of Taos; sisters, Delia Smith of Cleveland, Delma Romero (Benny) of Tennessee; Mary Trujillo (Ernest) of Stanley; Josephine Rivera of Santa Fe; brother, Juan Duran (Theresa) of Las Vegas; sister, Theresa Mondragon (Gilbert) of Chacon; brother, Alex Duran (Kathy) of Las Vegas; sister, Carol Romero of Mora; sister, Beatrice Trujillo of Las Vegas; and sister, Mary Anne Duran of Las Vegas. Grandchildren: Rosanna Chavez of Chacon; Marvin Maestas of Mora; Roger Romero of Mora; John Gonzales of Rio Rancho; Johnny J. Montaño of Albuquerque; Ashley Gonzales of Las Vegas; and Sierra Tuski of Taos; sisters-in-law, Olivama Gutierrez of Holman; Ruth Valencia (Wilford) of Holman; Eva Romero (Henry) of Las Vegas; Rita Martinez (Victor) of Santa Fe; and Dora Gonzales (Alex) of Texas; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.Martha is preceded in death by brother, Jose "Pancho" Lopez of Mora; grandson, Manuel H. Maestas of Mora; brothers-in-law Archie Gutierrez of Holman; and Cipriano Gonzales of Holman.Martha was employed through the Mora Independent School for 30 years. Martha was a lifelong Catholic and belonged to St. Gertrude's Church in Mora, N.M.The praying of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. today (Friday) at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora. The funeral mass will be the following day at 10 a.m. Graveside service and burial will be in Chacon with the following serving as casket bearers: Juan Duran, Alex Duran, Rosanna Chavez, Marvin Maestas, Roger Romero, John Gonzales, Johnny Montano, and Javon Maestas.
