FITZPATRICKMargaret Williams Fitzpatrick, age 89, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017. She was born on November 14th, 1927 in St. Bernard, Ohio, the daughter of Edward and Agnes Williams. Margie was a product of the Great Depression and a generation of Americans who had little financial means yet developed an incredible work ethic based on their faith in God. She was one of those individuals willing to forego a promising career working for the Procter and Gamble Company so she could marry, have a family and be a full time homemaker, a role she excelled at for 60 years. Margie was an incredibly humble and modest humanitarian who never failed in placing the needs of others above her own personal interests and was the kind of person who always remained in the background as opposed to taking any credit. Margie affected people's lives hundreds of ways: She was the anonymous school crossing guard shepherding kids safely during a torrential downpour; a caregiver who visited shut-ins and assembled and sent thousands of care packages over the years to the less fortunate, always quick to empty her wallet to help those in need; a mother, who drove hundreds of miles to sit by her son's bedside in a military hospital for months on end; the wife who after receiving a new winter coat from her husband, gave it to someone in a homeless shelter. Margie simply couldn't ignore the sound of God's call. Margie was a parishioner at St. Clare Catholic Church in College Hill for 77 years, and is survived by her husband William Sr., their two children, William Jr. and James, and her granddaughter Josie Marie. Visitation at St. Clare Church 1443 Cedar Ave., College Hill 45224 on Thursday September 28 from 10 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: The Padre Pio Foundation of America, 463 Main St. Cromwell, CT 06416. Condolences at
