This obituary is administered by:

A Life of Love

Margaret Emma Lee Jackson 83, Born August 16,1937 to Katie Mae & Samuel Lee Jackson in Greenwood Mississippi.

Margaret was the second oldest of three Samuel L Jackson and Shirley Jean (Rutha) Jackson Gaines both who proceeded her in death.

They came to Detroit in 1940 and were raised by their aunt Effie Palmer who covered them with great love until her death in 1977.

Margaret was a people person who worked in service all her life-- everything from cooking in Livonia Michigan to Detroit public schools cafeteria staff. Along with her various talents, she was also a Safety Patrol Monitor-- and let's not forget Den Mother of the year three years in a row! She loved Music, cooking and feeding people, Just having a good time!!!!

Margaret was baptized Baptist but later in life converted to Roman Catholic and jumped right into the choir to bless us with her high pitched Soprano voice on many Sundays here at St Elizabeth.

Unforunately in 2010 she had a terrible fall and hit her head. Shortly afterwards she began to show signs of memory loss, then Dementia kicked in. She began to lose her sight and her kidneys began to fail, but she fought for ten long exhausting years.

Margaret was a fighter-- paticuarly with her daughter in law Lovette. She used to tell her newphew, Miller, to hide paper towels for her so Lovette wouldn't take them. She would play one against the other as they rotated in shifts to help care for her. It was so funny to hear them!

But on December 18, 2020 she was pleasant to Lovette-- no fighting --just got up-- no smart words. She went into the restroom for morning clean up.

We never would have guessed that would be the last time.

The Doctors and Nurses revived her Eight times that morning. She fought to hold on till Tony got to the hospital. The ER Doctor burst thru the door and pulled him into the side door so he was able to tell her.

"IT IS OKAY, YOU CAN REST NOW, I WILL BE ALRIGHT." At the precise moment that Tony arrived home, the Nurse called and said your "Mom has gone home."

Margaret leaves one Loving and Devoted son Tony L. Jackson, one Devoted daughter in law Lovette M Jackson, one Devoted nephew Miller T Gaines, one neice Elon L, three great neices Myeisha, Kamisha, Nyla, one Great nephew Aaron and two daughters from another mother Ginger Radd Blair and Elaine Smole, and her Cousin who could make her laugh till she cried Hardene Warren aka Dude, along with a host of beloved friends.

You can to the family or in memory of Margaret Jackson.
