Magdalene Marie Keller NuttallCamarillo, CA1922 - 2017Maggie Nuttall, 94, died May 21, 2017, at her home at Atria Las Posas, Camarillo, CA. She was born on July 10, 1922 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Paul Ludwig Keller and Mary Magdalene Wupper Keller. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was kind, friendly, open-minded, adventurous, creative, intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor.Maggie grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and attended Omaha Central High School. She attended the University of Omaha (now the University of Nebraska at Omaha) from 1939 to 1941. Soon after the US began fighting in WWII, Maggie moved to Washington DC where she worked at the Pentagon in the Civilian Personnel Department of the U.S. Army. In 1945 Maggie moved to Los Angeles, California, then to Santa Monica, CA in 1946. In 1948 Maggie married the love of her life, Kenneth George Nuttall. They moved to Van Nuys, CA in 1949 where they purchased their first home. They had four children: Constance Mary "Connie", Emily Ann, Richard Kenneth and Paul Charles. They ran a family business Ken's Plumbing Company. In 1976 Ken Nuttall died at the age of 59. Maggie remained in the family home. She worked at the North Hollywood Redevelopment Agency. She moved to El Cajon, CA in 1988; Petaluma, CA in 1998; and Camarillo, CA in 2011. She was skilled at quilting and joined quilting clubs in every town she lived in. Other interests were garden clubs, women's groups, bridge clubs, knitting, book clubs and traveling to Europe, especially France.Maggie was very proud of her family. She was proud of her 25 years of service on the San Fernando Valley Girl Scout Council. She was active in the Central Lutheran Church in Van Nuys, the First Presbyterian Church of Encino, First Presbyterian Church of El Cajon, St John Lutheran Church of Petaluma and the Sunday Worship at Atria Las Posas.Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two siblings, Annette Anderson and Paul Keller. She was survived by her sister Marion Peterson of Santa Rosa, CA who then died June 5, 2017. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Connie and William Todd Haile of Rohnert Park, CA; Emily and Tom Owens of Pacific Grove, CA; Richard and Linda (Neff) Nuttall of Camarillo, CA; Paul and Christine (Goodman) Nuttall of Thousand Oaks, CA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; all of whom she loved dearly. Her family cherished her and she will be deeply missed.Private inurnment services will take place in June at the Los Angeles National Cemetery where her ashes will be placed next to her husband, Ken, who served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.Memories and condolences can be shared with family on Maggie's Memorial webpage: https://www.forevermissed.com/magdalene-marie-keller-nuttall A memorial gathering will take place in Thousand Oaks on June 24th.
