BATAVIA - Michalene "Mickey" Chase, April 1, 1946 - November 15, 2016. Evidently, Michalene Antonia Chase could'nt be bothered to wait any longer to talk to her parents about the World Series. She died on Tuesday, November 15, and despite her wishes, her loved ones haven't moved on already. Mickey was born on April 1, 1946 to parents James and Anna D'Amore. She wasted no time on her first April Fool's joke and was born a girl after months of evidence to the contrary. She was a proud graduate of Chopin Elementary School and Tuley High School in Chicago. As a teenager, she could be found lugging out her radio and dancing on the street in Ukrainian Village with her girlfriends. She remained confident that this was not the behavior of loose women. Mickey was a phenomenal mom and took great pride in the position, though she is glad to finally have some peace and quiet. She volunteered at all her kids' schools and was president of the mother's club at St. Mary's School in Bucktown. Her famous morning song, aptly titled "It's time to get up in the morning," continues to reverberate through the skulls of all who have heard it. During her 11 years at Amstadt's, Mickey memorized the grocery list of virtually every home on the east side. She delighted in sending daily letters to her best friend Diane, reading mystery novels, having coffee on the front porch, saving boxes from odd things to later confuse gift recipients, coloring pictures to mail to her loved ones, and watching movies about dancing and Christmas. The family remains hopeful for her sake that the afterlife resembles the North Pole in The Santa Clause. She is reunited with her mom and dad as well as sisters Annie and Rochelle (Oakes) and soulmate Paul Newman. She is survived by children Nicole (Jesse), Ellen, Brian and Megan, partner Greg Walendzinski, grandchildren Brittiany, Vincent, and Kaprice, and long-term boyfriend Frankie Avalon. At her request, services will be private (the family has exceeded the allotted 5 minutes of crying time and is thus in trouble). The family kindly requests donations to St. Jude's and asks that you invite someone who would otherwise be alone into your home this holiday season. Make them laugh until it hurts.
You can to the family or in memory of MICHALENE CHASE.
