MATTHEW JEROME MIGUEL MAEZ Matthew Jerome Miguel Maez, age 29, our beloved son was called to heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on November 14, 2016. Matthew passed away suddenly due to a heart attack at his home, in Rio Rancho. He was born on November 17, 1986, in Santa Fe, and was a former parishioner of Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community. He graduated from Capital High School in 2005. Matthew was loved by so many and brought smiles to all those around him. He loved his family and the many friends that he would encounter throughout his life. Matthew is best remembered for his great personality, always with an awesome smile, no matter the situation and he could always see the best of a situation and the good in people. Matthew is survived by his life and loving partner, Pete {Lawrence} Lopez; his twin brother, Stephen M. Maez (fianc‚ Maricruz Trevizo); his loving mother, Janice Maez; his loving father, Amado {Anthony} Maez; his grandmother, Viola Mascarenas; uncle Ron Mascarenas; aunt and godmother Paula Roybal (Eddy); aunt Valerie Gallegos (Brian); aunt Josie Acevedo (Fernando). Niece Jaylene Amanda Maez. Cousins: Ron Mascarenas, Jr.; Shawn and Justin Roybal; Aaliyah Gallegos; Angel and Dominic Acevedo, and many more relatives. Matthew was preceded in death by his loving and caring sister Amanda E. Maez; grandfather Paul J. Mascarenas; grandparents Amado and Eufelia Maez; great-grandparents David and Manuelita Mascarenas, and Felix and Josefita Lujan. Pallbearers: Anthony Maez, Stephen Maez, Ron Mascarenas, Jr., Dominick Acevedo, Eddy Roybal and Brian Gallegos. Visitation will begin at 7 pm with the rosary recited at 7:30 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community.
