Lynne Carol ParksLynne Carol Parks, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on December 9th, 2016, in Grand Rapids, MI, after a brief illness. Lynne was born on June 15th, 1932, in Lansing, to Willard and Mildred Bates.  She lived between Michigan, Hawaii and Florida, for many years of her life. Lynne's most important treasure in life was her family.  She enjoyed hosting gatherings at her house, traveling and recently being with the love of her life, her great granddaughter. Lynne filled the worlds of those who knew her with a beautiful light.Lynne is survived by her loving daughter, Jan Thomas; granddaughter Lacey (Miles) Jonassen; great granddaughter, Eloise Grace Jonassen; brothers, Jerry Bates, Kevin (Lily) Bates, Randy Bates; sister-in-law, Sharon Bates; many cherished nephews and nieces and very special friend from childhood, Dolores Ward.  She joins, in Heaven, her father and mother, her daughter, Julie Thomas; brothers, John Bates and Kim (Gloria) Bates.At Lynne's request, no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, in Lynne's honor.
