Luther Etheridge began this earthly journey on September 10, 1926 in Mobile Alabama.  Luther was born to the late Joseph Etheridge and the late Mary Scruggs Etheridge. He was also preceded in death by his older brother Edgar Etheridge.

Luther graduated from Murphy High School in 1944. He was employed with Alabama Insurance Agency for over 40 years. He was baptized at the age of 17 and joined Revelation Baptist Church where he served on the usher board for over 30 years. 

Luther faced many obstacles, but he was a fighter.  He was determined not to let anything stand in his way of accomplishing his goals and living his life to the fullest. Luther loves his family and could be found assisting wherever needed.

He leaves to cherish his sons Thomas Etheridge(Pam) of Chattanooga TN, and Charlie Etheridge(Shelia)of Mobile AL; 3 daughters; Ruth Etheridge of Mobile AL, Annie Scruggs Leslie(Anthony)of Huntsville AL, and Jackie Scruggs Robinson(Zachary) of Madison Alabama; 5 grandchildren: Asher Etheridge- Lewis(Christopher) of Pensacola FL, Jalissa Curry(Dustin) of Montgomery AL, Jonathan Etheridge of Mobile AL, Alethea Leslie of Madison AL, and Kimberly Leslie-Gosa of Meridianville AL; 3 great-grandchildren: Josiah Curry of Montgomery AL, Trenton Etheridge of Chattanooga TN, and Donovan Gosa, of Meridianville AL
