Harlingen, TX - Luis De La Rosa, Sr., 94, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on August 19, 1922 in Kyle, Texas to Juan and Guadalupe De La Rosa.He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolina De La Rosa; son, Alberto De La Rosa; and daughter-in-law, Sylvia De La Rosa.Left to cherish his memory are his children, Luis De La Rosa Jr. (Estella), Florencio De La Rosa (Antonia), and Javier De La Rosa (Lisa); 9 grandchildren, Ralph De La Rosa, Melissa Montes, Michael De La Rosa, Dina Ramirez, Florencio De La Rosa Jr., Harvey De La Rosa Jr., Ruby De La Rosa, Becky Montez, and Jessica De La Rosa; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Francisca Leal; brother, Marcos De La Rosa; and several nephews and nieces.Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.Funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
