Louise Mary "St. George" PlantAge: 83 • CharlotteLouise Mary "St. George" PlantDearest mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, went to be with the Lord after a prolonged illness. She died peacefully in her sleep, at her Charlotte Vermont home, surrounded by her three daughters on the evening of March 10, 2017.She was born on March 5, 1934, to Walter St. George and Alma (Parker) St. George in her childhood home in Charlotte, Vermont. Not long after graduating from Burlington High School, she met her sweetheart, Richard Alan Plant. Richard Alan Plant served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Beachmaster: ship to shore radioman. Louise met Richard at New York Life where they both worked, where their courtship began. They were married on May 29th, 1954 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Charlotte, Vermont.Louise was a quiet, private person. She enjoyed working on her many perennial gardens, fruit trees, and especially in her peony beds. She also was an avid bird watcher and naturalist. Her love for the outdoors began with childhood romps on her parent's farm with her constant companion, Lucia her younger sister. Louise and Lucia remained close throughout their lives. They built their homes beside the farm they grew up on. They raised their families together. They began each morning at 6:30 with shared coffee together at Louise's home, and ended each evening with their continued "good nights" of fondness and love even on Louise's last day.Louise was predeceased by her father and mother, and Frank St. George, "dad", her half-sister, Olive Karpenski, and Louise's husband, Richard Alan Plant. She is also survived by her children: Rachel Plant and husband Richard Shappy of New Haven, Vermont. Michele Alderman and husband Don of Williston, Vermont.
