Louis Joseph Achille, 88, of Fredericksburg, passed away at Golden Living Center, on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Louis was born on February 1, 1928, to Colombo and Maria (DiMasi) Achille, in Erie, Pa. After high school, Louis joined the U.S. Navy. He continued his education as a drafting engineer at Gannon University in Erie. Louis married Eleanor C. Cook on April 30, 1949 in Erie. He worked for over twenty years with General Electric before becoming a contractor, traveling the U.S. with Eleanor, finally settling in the Fredericksburg area in the 1990s. They were members of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eleanor; son, Louis Ronald (Kathleen); three daughters, Mary C. Achille, Eleanor L. Wallace (Russell), and Susan C. Hodges (Donald); brother, Julio Achille (Joanne); six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; sister Stella Rys; and brother, Albert. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Spotsylvania, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 with Father Paul Eversole officiating.
