Lois M. Hable, age 81 of Oshkosh, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born on January 8, 1936 in Oshkosh, the only child of the late Frank and Johanna (Heisler) Sipple. She was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Hable on May 22, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Lois worked for F.W. Mueller Drug Store, Citizen's First Credit Union and retired as a Crossing Guard in 2015. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish and was part of many groups in the church including: the Rosary Society, Eucharistic Ministry, Bible Study, Worship Committee, Religious Education Catechist and was a secretary of the parish council. Lois enjoyed being a Campfire Girls leader, Cubs Scouts Den Mother and pack secretary. In their spare time Ken and Lois enjoyed traveling and road trips with their children. Lois always enjoyed good times with her cousins who were as close to her as sisters. Lois especially enjoyed family gatherings including Saturday night sheepshead.Lois is survived by three sons: Mark A. (Cindy) Hable of Oshkosh, Dan (Mary) Hable of Sparta, and Kenneth C. (Sheryl) Hable of Oshkosh; two daughters: Diane (Roger) Martinson, of Coeur d' Alene, ID and Wendee Hable of Oshkosh; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Lance) Haun of Kennewick, WA; Kate Martinson of Coeur d' Alene, ID; Will R. (Megan) Hable of Oshkosh, Laura A. and Joseph A. Hable of Oshkosh; 3 great-grandchildren: Sophia and Zoe Hable of Oshkosh, Elida Haun of Kennewick; Sister-in-law, Elaine Mueller and brother-in-law, Robert (Audrey) Hable all of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, who preceded her in 2009; and grandson, Andrew T. Hable.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 519 Knapp St., with Father Mathew Simonar officiating. Friends and family may visit on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes- Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with Rosary at 6:30 pm; and visitation on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Private inurnment will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Parish, Affinity Visiting Nurses and the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.The family would like to thank Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, especially Kerry H. and Chris, for all their care and support.
