Mrs. Lois Irene ReidBardstown: A Bardstown resident, Mrs. Lois Irene Reid, 80, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1937 in Bardstown to the late Paul B. and Rebecca "Becky" Salsman Keith. She was a graduate of St. Marys of the Springs College in Columbus Ohio where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Education then received her Masters from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Lois was a retired elementary teacher having taught in several states and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Reid Marshall, 4 brothers Charlie, Gordon, Jack and Bob, 1 sister, Martha Jean Morrow and brother in law Harry Whitaker.She is survived by her husband of 50 years Walter John Reid, a daughter, Rise' Reid (Tommy) Ballard of Bardstown, 2 sons, Steven (his finace' Kathy), Thomas Stewart (Lorilei) Reid all of Reno, Nevada, 2 sisters, Mary M. (James) Potts of Spokane Washington, Julia Whitaker of Florida, 2 brothers, Buddy (Jean) Keith of Louisville and Paul (Maryann) Keith of Illinois and a son-in-law, Bill Marshall of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A non-ceremonial cremation was chosen by the family with no visitation or funeral service.
