Mr. Lloyd Elverson Winnick Jr. of Piney Creek died on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at his home. He was 53.

Mr. Winnick was born on Oct. 25, 1960, in Rockledge, Fla., to the late Lloyd Elverson Winnick Sr. and the late Anna Davis Winnick.

He worked for Ferrellgas Propane Company for several years and was the general manager of the Ferrellgas office in North Wilkesboro. He enjoyed hunting and loved to fish and spend time at the river. He had a great love for people and was loved by all who knew him.

Mr. Winnick is survived by his wife, Ruth Ferguson Winnick; four daughters, Caroline Leonard of Guam, Sarah Jane Winnick of Wilmington, Amber Winnick of Sparta, and Katie Winnick of the home; four sisters, Loni Michaux, Roxann Powell, Virginia Lambert, and Ruthann McIntyre, all of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Jimmy Williams. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
