Lloyd E. SprenkleAugust 18, 1926 - December 27, 2016ThomasvilleLloyd E. Sprenkle, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 27,2016 at Manor Care, North. He was the husband of Joyce E. (Myers) Sprenkle who passed in 2010.Lloyd was born on August 18, 1926, in York, the son of the late Lloyd W. Sprenkle and Nellie M. (Hilker) Sprenkle. He was the first of 12 children. He is survived by his children, Kathy McDannell and her husband, Douglas of York, Betsy Fuhrman and her husband, Randall of Spring Grove, Lance Sprenkle and his wife, Diane, and Larry Sprenkle and his wife, Jeannette, all of Thomasville; five sisters; two brothers; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Sprenkle; three sisters; and a brother. Lloyd was a Marine veteran, serving in
WWII (the Pacific Theatre) and in the
Korean Conflict. Lloyd was a member of First Moravian Church. Following cremation, a private memorial service to celebrate Lloyd's life will be held at First Moravian Church, 42 N. Duke St., York, with Lloyd's pastor, the Rev. Sayward E. G. Lippincott, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to First Moravian Church.
