Johnson, Jr., Lionel Hugh Lionel Hugh Johnson, Jr., 78, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1603 Norwalk Drive in Katy, Texas. Interment in the family plot will follow in Mesa, Arizona, at a later date. Mr. Johnson was born on August 29, 1938, to Lionel Hugh Sr., and Maxine Shill Johnson in Mesa, Arizona. He lived in the area until he was drafted into the US Army, where he served at Fort Detrick, Maryland, in the Biological Labs. After the Army, he married his sweetheart, Sandra Deshler. He went on to graduate from the University of Arizona in 1969, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While working in the oil and gas industry, the couple moved their family around, living in California, Louisiana, Scotland and finally Katy, Texas. In each location, he served as a valiant member of his Church. He retired from Mustang Engineering in 2015. With more free time, he indulged his favorite hobbies: gardening, cars and hanging out with the guys at the deer lease. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Sandra; their daughters and their husbands - Melissa Lei Jones (Glen) and Keri Stapley Milich (Michael); four grandchildren -Deshler Jones (Katie), McKinnon Jones Riley (Michael), Stirling Jones and Sophie Millich; and one great-grandson, Victor Riley.
