Linda E. ShaverOf St. Marys, IowaLinda Shaver, 70, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017. She was born on October 20, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa.Linda graduated from Des Moines Tech and went on to study nursing at Broadlawns Nursing School. After graduating she began work full time at Broadlawns Medical Center for almost 20 years and later at Warren County Public Health as a nurse for 25 years until her retirement. Linda was a member of Iowa Wild Rose HitchHikers Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family.She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John; children, Connie (Dan) Young and John (Charity) Shaver; grandchildren, Lindsey and Alison Young, and Grayson and Layla Shaver; sister, Janice Connelly; special cousin, Cheryl (Evan) Johnson; and a host of family and friends.Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harlin and Erma Speck; and brother, Donald Speck.Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, also at the funeral home followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines.Memorial Contributions may be directed to Kavanagh House on 56th in loving memory of Linda.
