Lillian Theresa ThelenWestphaliaAge 96, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 4, 2016.  Lillian was born on August 31, 1920 in Westphalia MI, the eldest child of Arthur and Theodora (Weiland) Wieber.  She married Edmund Thelen on May 6, 1942 at St. Mary Church, Westphalia.  They raised seven children together, enjoyed travel with friends and entertaining during summers at their Jordan Lake cottage.  Lillian was a homemaker and an excellent cook who enjoyed quilting and crocheting.  She was a lifelong member of St Mary Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Women's Guild.  Preceding Lillian in death were her husband Edmund, brother Claude Wieber and sister Germain Dunigan.  Surviving are her children Joyce (Carl) Wohlfert of Monument, CO, Gary (Rosemary) Thelen of Lansing, Janice (Marvin) Weber of Pewamo, Sharon (Tony) Hengesbach of Westphalia, Glenn (Linda) Thelen of Hudsonville, Diane Fedewa of Lansing, Thomas (Kimberly) Thelen of Westphalia, 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.  Lillian's surviving siblings are Mildred (Floyd) Puckett of Lansing, Gladys Ryan of CO, Magina McMillian of Lansing, Gwen (Ron) Hartenburg of St Johns, sister-in-law Maybelle Thelen of Westphalia and many nieces and nephews.The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St..
