Lillian Edna Warren MartinAsheville - Lillian Edna Warren Martin, 96, died on September 7, 2017, in Asheville.Lillian is survived by her daughter, Jean Martin Butler (Del); her son, David William Martin; grandchildren Stacey Butler Long (Mark), Kimberly Nicole Michel, and Candy Martin Chambers; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Jean Long, Caroline Marie Long, Jesse Mark Long, James Eli Chambers, William Grant Michel, Destiny LoRay Chambers, and Madelyn Claire Michel; multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulus Cromwell Warren and Effie Lea Watts Warren; husband, Delbert William Martin, of Columbia, SC; an infant son; brother, Thurlow Raphael Warren (Lorema); sister, Martha Elizabeth Warren Clarke (Homer); sister, Olivia Marie Warren Stanberry (Fred); brother, Leslie Warren; sister, Marcelene Warren Jackson; and sister, Maybre Vera Warren. Lillian was born on January 29, 1921 in Candler, NC. She will be remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her devotion to her family and her church was unquestionable. Anyone lucky enough to enter her door would be greeted with a warm smile and a slice of the best homemade cake you ever had.Funeral services for Lillian will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Smith officiating.
