Feb. 10, 1942 - Nov. 30, 2011SOUTH BEND - Lester L. Ellis Jr., 69, passed away at 10:30 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in his residence. Lester was born on February 10, 1942 in Mishawaka to Lester and Mary (Pollard) Ellis Sr. He was a retired truck driver who also was employed by A.M. General and held numerous other jobs. Les was also a member of BassMasters. Surviving are his wife Patricia (Horvath) Ellis; 4 daughters, Patricia Marie (Rodney) Pangallo of Niles, Theresa Ann (Brian) Vandygriff of Niles, Ann Marie (Rick) Engle of South Bend and Amy Sue (Charles) Schaal of South Bend; 2 sons, Michael John (Tanya) Ellis of South Bend and John Robert Ellis of Akron, OH; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Johnson of Mishawaka and Judy (Louie) Elia of South Bend; and a brother, Tom (Pam) Ellis of Mishawaka. Les was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marilyn, and a brother, Arthur Ellis. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Saturday in the funeral home. Cremation will follow with burial in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice Care.
