Leopoldo Quintana, 89, a lifetime resident of San Geronimo, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.He was born on April 5, 1925 in San Geronimo to the late Tranquilino Quintana and Victoria Schuabacker Quintana.He was a hardworking rancher. He enjoyed music, playing the accordion and tending to his animals. He was also a good neighbor. He was a loving father, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle and friend.He was preceded in death by his parents, Tranquilino and Victoria Quintana and all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons, Jim Quintana and wife, Maria, Martin Quintana of San Geronimo, Michael Aranda of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Adam Sanchez, Patrick Aranda, Michael David Aranda Jr., Disiree Griego and Victor Martinez; great-grandchildren, Damian Sanchez, Hailey Jade Garcia and Alijah Garcia; special nephew, Ricky Gonzales; special niece, Judy Gonzales; special friends, Sally Flores and family, Cathy and Ernest Jaramillo and family, Alfonso and Ida Valencia and family; numerous other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Geronimo Cemetery in San Geronimo. Serving as pallbearers will be: Adam Sanchez, Patrick Aranda, Victor Martinez, Sebastian Flores, Isaiah Varela and Joe Jaramillo. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Ricky Gonzales, PePe Campos, Alfonso Valencia, Isaiah Velasquez, Troy Gallegos, Mitchell Gallegos and Roger Montaño.
