Leon Grant Murphy Jr.San AngeloLeon Grant Murphy Jr., 75, of San Angelo, passed away on Sept. 15, 2017 at a local hospital. He was born on June 25, 1942 to Leon and Theda (Schnieder) Main in Arlington, Virgina. On Jan. 3, 1963, he married Lieselotte Ehrbacher in Germany. Leon served his country in the US Army serving two tours in Vietnam, and later in medical logistics in Landstuhl, Germany, where he retired after 20 years of faithful service to his country. Leon was a loving husband, dad, granddad and great-granddad who enjoyed woodworking and loved fishing. He and Lieselotte have lived in San Angelo for the past 36 years.Leon is survived by his loving spouse of 54 years, Lieselotte Murphy; son, Dennis Arl Murphy and wife Marie; daughter, Constance Lee Murphy; two grandsons, Shane Eric Williams an Aaron Murphy and wife, Kari; two granddaughters, Tanya McCain and husband, Jared, all of San Angelo, Amanda Nicole Schoenenberger of Snyder; two sisters, Barbara Murphy of Richmond, Virginia, Judy Murphy and brother, John Murphy. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Theda Main; son, Richard Leon Murphy; daughter, Miriam Murphy; granddaughter, Christina Burke; brother, Earl Murphy; and brother, Roland Murphy.Family visitation will be held 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Cam Ohlemacher of Freedom Fellowship Church, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.Memorials are suggested to the / , PO Box 841125 Dallas, TX 75284-1125.
